Huawei P Smart (2019) Review, Specifications, Price

The first new smartphone of 2019 has been announced, and it's a mid-range model from Huawei. Put the P Smart 2019 and Honor 10 Lite side by side and you'll be hard pressed to spot the differences. So there are differences, but we still don't know the official price of Honor 10 Lite. The Huawei P Smart (2019) features a 6.4-inch display. The smartphone, overall, also fits in the hand well and doesn't feel overly big.

The device is set to vivid mode from the factory, I found the saturation levels of the display to be on par with other devices in this segment, nothing displeasing, personally I would leave it at this setting, unless you prefer a more naturally setting then you can select the standard mode.

The Huawei P Smart (2019) is the successor of the very popular P Smart (2018), and this fun phone, too, has excellent specifications. Unfortunately, there's no support for wireless charging, however the 2019 P Smart does come with support for Huawei's fast charging, which they claim increases charging speed by up to 22%.

I do think that Huawei needs to clean up the UI of the camera app slightly to allow for ease of use, but that is a known issue across the entire range and not specific to the P Smart 2019.

Well, for one, VLC got so annoyed at Huawei they decided to just blacklist Huawei devices from the play store. Think of the Xiaomi Mi A2, Nokia 7 Plus or Honor 8X. You do not have to buy the P Smart 2019 for the camera. The Huawei P Smart has a 13-megapixel rear camera with a 2-megapixel buddy around the back to let you take shallow depth of field shots.
